David Huglin's Ahab vrs the Whale deals with self destruction and the repeated theme that the object of your uncontrolled desires will be the very agency of your demise. The image is a collage of literary (Moby Dick), pop cultural (the famous rivalry between Joe Frasier and Muhammad Ali and the resulting documentary Thriller in Manilla) and religious sources (the story of Amnon and Tamar, which constitutes the Hebrew text found in the work).
Born in 1982, Huglin lives and works in London and has exhibited internationally.
